"Fast out of the box! What more can I say! With a tight schedule and no time for any practice races, we hoisted our new Kevlar 155% for the first time 15 minutes before the start gun. Perfect fit! A few practice tacks to adjust our jib leads are we where ready to race.
With the new North we consistently out-pointed all the other Capri 22’s by 2-3 degrees with matched boat speed, which always put us 1 or 2 boats lengths further ahead by the top mark. We where the only boat at the Capri Cup (Capri 22 one design regatta) with North headsails and thanks to North “Madcap” topped the fleet with a 1, 1, 2, 1, 1 race record, 1st in fleet and 1st overall! A special thanks to Perry Lewis and the rest of the gang at North Sails Midwest!"

North Sails One Design decided to devote our sail design and development energy to the Capri 22 class. Based on the strength of our success in similar type classes we feel we can offer the Capri 22 class a exceptional sail value by following the "North Approach" of sail development, design and thorough testing. The result of these efforts is a completely new set of sails for the boat that incorporate the latest materials and design philosophies which consider speed, ease of use and durability as our highest priorities.
We are excited about working with the Capri 22 class and hope many Capri 22 sailors will discover the difference that North sails can make.

RACE MAINSAIL
At North we believe in providing our customer's with the best
possible value for their dollar. That's why we make our main out
of high quality, low stretch Dacron. Where some sailmakers sell
the "sizzle" of Kevlar or even Technora sail we find
dacron does just as good a job on the Capri 22 main and last a
lot longer. It is also substantially cheaper. The North Race Mainsail
features:
-
Low stretch 5 oz, NorDac sailcloth available only from North
Sails and the worlds finest sailcloth.
-
Shelf foot to increase fullness and speed downwind.
-
Tear drop shaped head and clew patches for minimizing stretch.
- Mainsails include: sail numbers, insignia, battens and roll
bag. Trim stripes are available.

155 % AP MYLAR GENOA
Like the main the cloth used in the genoa has been selected specifically
to provide the best speed, durability and overall value to our
customers. The construction of the genoa is Tri-radial which minimizes
stretch in all directions and keeps the designed shape locked
in place. As the wind picks up our genoa maintains it's shape
and does not get fuller. The 155% AP Mylar Genoa features:
-
Optically clear and low stretch monofilm mylar windows
-
Tri-radial construction to minimize stretch.
-
Cunningham in luff
-
Leech line and foot line
-
Dual weight construction. The luff of the sail is lighter
than the higher load bearing leech thereby saving weight.
- Genoas include: vision window, leech line, footline, spreader
reinforcements, cunningham, roll bags.

DACRON RACE JIB
The North Capri 22 Dacron Class Jib is patterned after our jib
for the J/22 which has been a very successful sail for us. Because
the sailplans of the J and Capri 22 are similar there is a easy
crossover here. The Class jib is built from the same premium 5
oz. Nordac as the main for low stretch as the wind builds. It
features:

CAPRI 22 SPINNAKER
|

|
-
The Capri 22 Spinnaker is optimized for the windward leeward
courses that are so prevalent in today's racing.
-
The crosscut panel layout allows us to shape the sail right
to it's edge which makes amore stable spinnaker and a larger
projected area downwind.
-
The Capri 22 Spinnaker is made from .75 oz. Challenge Fleetwing
nylon.
- It features glued, not sewn seams for ultimate smoothness.
