FUN Maritime Academy in Sanford Florida (Orlando area) hosted the twenty four boat Catalina 22 Midwinter Championship. Sailing with North Sails John Handler defended his Catalina 22 Midwinters Championship title. John with crew Stuart Muir and Gary Kirkilas won both the Spinnaker (2-1-1) and Gold Fleet racing (2-2-2-1). The World's leading one design sailmaker is proud to have the Catalina 22 class benefit from our expertise. North quality is the gauge all other sailmaker use. Our computerized production process assures you will receive the same sails as the champions use. The Catalina 22 class is the largest one design in America. Many of the class members, however, do not race. We estimate about 15-20% of the 2,100 race. As the result, we offer both race and coastal sails.

CATALINA 22 ALL-PURPOSE REGATTA MAINSAIL

  • The North All-Purpose Catalina 22 Regatta Mainsail is buit from 5.4 ounce Dacron with a firm finish. It takes full advantage of the class'maximum dimensions.

  • The sail features radial reinforcements, Cunningham, shel foot, tapered battens, numbers, insignia and roll bag.

  • The All Purpose Regatta Mainsail comes standard with one set of reef points.

CATALINA 22 COASTAL MAINSAIL

  • The North Coastal Mainsail is for cruising and daysailing.

  • The Coastal Mainsail is our economical alternative to the AP racing mainsail. The only difference between the two is that we use a wider slightly less expensive cloth for the Coastal series main.

  • The Coastal Mainsail is cut from the same pattern as the AP ensuring a fast shape.

  • The Coastal Mainsail comes standard with one set of reef points.

CATALINA 22 REGATTA GENOA

The Catalina 22 Regatta Genoa is our flat out racing genoa. Made from "Diax" diagonally reinforced cloth, the Regatta Genoa is built for speed and to last.

CATALINA 22 COASTAL CLUB-RACE GENOA

The concept of the Coastal Club-Race Genoa is the same as the Coastal main, to provide a economical alternative to the Regatta. Again, this sail is built from less expensive wide width dacron to save you money. The sail is cut off the same mold as it's racing brother, the Regatta Genoa.

CATALINA 22 CLASS JIB

The North Catalina 22 Class Jib is used in winds above 18 knots. Not everyone wants to sail in such heavy wind so we've worked to make the Class jib very easy to use. Made of strong, heavy cloth the class jib will last for many years.

CATALINA 22 COASTAL JIB

The Catalina 22 Coastal jib is an economical choice for non-race purposes.

CATALINA 22 RADIAL SPINNAKER

The new North Radial Spinnaker is a true all around performer. Its radial construction ensures the highest durability. It is an easy sail to trim and is perfect for the less experienced trimmer.

Finally after a long COLD winter here down south, I got a chance to get Loaded Question off the dock and actually do some sailing.
The North suit is awesome!!!! Great on all points of sail and more important: FAST!
